1st Annual Manga/Anime/Comics Crawl NYC
About this Event
Here it is our first annual Manga/Animes/Comics Crawl NYC! Fans or Artists of either come join us as we walk and hang out with likeminded folks at a few spots in the Midtown/Bryant Park area of New York City! This is a great way to meet new friends and find people who have similar interests in person for a connection the good old fashion way irl, without relying on dreaded apps, online groups, pay for groups, etc. There will be an optional challenge for each destination we will save for the end marked with a*

With that little disclaimer out of the way make sure to read our groups bio to get a sense of what this group is about and if it sounds like exactly what your looking for here are the details below.
We will meet in the center of MMC Plaza somewhere by the wierd sculpture thing near around 1:45pm with the event officially starting at 2pm.
1:45pm - 2:10pm: Name tags/post its will be handed out upon arrival so everyone knows whos here for the event. On our name tags we will put a either a Red Dot = Manga/Anime Fan and Blue Dot = Comics/Marvel/DC Fan and if you enjoy both just as much you can put both a red and blue dot. This makes it easier to know what fellow members enjoy most and make even easier to strike up conversation and find common ground. Will wait around a bit for anyone a little late and do a very quick welcome/introduction to everyone. I will also hand out my contact information to use whatsapp or text so I can notify you before we leave a destination so you don't get left behind. Then head to the first destination which is right next door.
2:15pm - 3:00pm: we will start at Bookoff Nyc. Once at the destination we will explore the store with fellow members, we will try to stay together as close as possible as a group but members are also free to explore independently and with each other. We will spend about 30 - 50 minutes or so here before we head off to the next spot. *optional challenge = $10 or Less Hunt find the coolest manga/comic for $10 less to share with everyone at the end you can purchase or just take a picture of it.
3:00pm - 4:00pm: We regroup will begin to head off to Midtown Comics which is a 5-7 minute walk away. Once at the destination we will explore the store with fellow members, we will try to stay together as close as possible as a group but members are also free to explore independently and with each other. We will spend about 30 - 50 minutes or so here before we head off to the next spot. *optional challenge = Recomend Me find a manga/comic you would recommend most to share with everyone at the end you can purchase or just take a picture of it.
4:00 - 5:00pm: We regroup will begin to head off to Kinokuniya New York which is a 5-7 minute walk away. Once at the destination we will explore the store with fellow members, we will try to stay together as close as possible as a group but members are also free to explore independently and with each other. We will spend about 30 - 50 minutes or so here before we head off to the next spot. *optional challenge = Wierdest/Coolest Cover Art find a manga/comic you that you saw that has the wierdest or coolest cover share with everyone at the end you can purchase or just take a picture of it.
5:00pm - 5:45pm: We will regroup and wrap up heading to the Whole Foods right nearby to the seating area on the second floor and if seating available sit for a bit, grab a quick bit to eat/drink, hang out, go over the optional challenges and lastly take a big group photo of everyone. Here we can casually sit down and talk about manga, anime, comics, games, conventions, artists, cosplay, games, and everything else. Also feel free to exchange contact information with anyone
*Optional* 5:45pm - 6:30pm+ While the event officially ends at 5:30pm - 5:45pm I may go out to get something to eat more substantial and exciting, so feel free to walk with me down to Koreatown to Food Gallery 32 a 13 - 15 minute or so walk. It is a multi-level food court with a variety of interesting Korean/Japanese/Asian Food places. Can get crowded though so I don't know how the seating situation will be.
Additional Relevant Information:
1 - This event and the tickets are FREE, this is a free casual walk/hangout you do need to make any purchases at any destination nor for the optional challenges.
2 - We hand out nametags in the beginning so everyone can meet one another! If you are a bit late just lookout for me *tall, dark, handsome, glasses, bookbag, sketchpad, nametag you can't miss me haha* or anyone else in the area with a nametag that can point you towards me. If you see no one at the original location definately check if you missed a cancelation notice or are to late and try to catch up at one of the destinations in relation to the time.
3 - Any photos you'd like to share of the event which is certainly encouraged can be posted on our community page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/imaginativeartistsofnycmeetup
4 - Please no pets. Expected ages of attendants to be 20s - 30s, with sometimes 40s+, events that are part of this group are not geared to accomidate children.
5 - Feel free to bother or chat with anyone in attendance (A huge point of this event is socializing with other like-minded folks) but all I ask is that common sense courtesy/respect is a must, if you have an issue with anyone report to me directly.
6 - Try not to block isles to much at destinations when talking out of respect for thier customers, bring a bag if you expect you may see something you'd want to buy, and lastly where comfortable shoes your ok in standing in for a long period of time.
7 - The time schedule structure is not to strict and is more or less loose so the time can run longer or finish sooner.
8 - While yes tickets are Free I cannot guarantee the amount of seating space available in public spaces, even if the free tickets are sold out I can't stop you from showing up but again I cannot guarantee what space will be available.
