💙Saturday 10/3 - registration begins at 1:00 💙Please use the address for the Buzzards Bay Park 110 Main Street, Bourne.
💙There is plenty of parking in and around the park
💙There are public restrooms available on the canal and we are required by the Army Corps of Engineers to provide a portapotty for the event, which will be located at the far corner of the parking lot. Please ask a volunteer if you need help finding the restrooms.
💙Check in begins at 1:00
💙From 1:00-1:30 check in will take place
💙At check in, you may choose to take a color-coded necklace to identify yourself as a person with T1D, caregiver of a person with T1D, sibling or grandparent to a person with T1D or friend/supporter of a person with T1D. This is optional but is a nice way to make connections with others who are at the event and we encourage you to strike up conversation with other members of the T1D community who will be there!
💙For those of you who haven't been to the Buzzards Bay Park before, there is a large pavilion, a very large grass area and a playground
💙While there are picnic tables available under the pavilion, there are not enough of these for the people who have signed up for the walk so PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN LAWN CHAIR or blanket for relaxing before and after the walk
💙We will have refreshments for purchase, raffles, games, face painting, hair tinsel, trivia and more. We will accept cash, card, check and venmo.
💙Prior to the walk we will all gather for a group picture and then will make our way to the canal for the walk
💙This is a 1K - for those of you who don't know, that is approximately 3/4 of a mile. It is not a long walk but is a short symbolic walk that allows all to participate. If you wish to continue along the canal after our "stopping point", please feel free to do so! Additionally, if there are members of your party who are unable to participate in the walk, they are welcome to stay behind at the pavilion while we walk.
💙At the conclusion of the walk we will return to the pavilion/grass area for more hanging out, refreshments, games, etc...
💙At approximately 2:45 we will pull the names of the raffle winners
💙You must be present or give your ticket to someone who is present to win the prize as we are unable to distribute prizes that cannot be taken home that day.
