What if the word “homosexual” was never meant to be in the Bible?Join us for a viewing of the groundbreaking documentary 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture on Wednesday, May 8th at 6pm. The movie examines the 1946 translation of the Bible that led to the word "homosexual" appearing for the first time in any translation. The documentary exposes the flaws in how the translation committee added "homosexual" to the Bible for the first time and how this shifted society's view of sexuality and gender identity.
Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors, including the personal stories of the film’s creators, 1946 is at once challenging, enlightening, and inspiring.
Screening at 6pm, Q&A with Director, Sharon “Rocky” Roggio.
Popcorn and a selection of beer and wine will be available for purchase.
