David Tannock was a Scot who learned his horticultural skills at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and brought those skills to Dunedin in 1903 as Superintendent of Reserves. Over the next 37 years, he worked tirelessly to develop the Dunedin Botanic Garden, and showcased his work at the 1925 New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition. Not only did he work on the landscaping of the exhibition itself, he led botanical tours for visitors.
Stop and smell the roses with Alice as she takes you on a tour of the exhibition’s botanical side.
