Edwardian Promenade in Poway Park (Antique Car Show & Train Ride too): Sat., September 26
The Edwardians have graciously invited SDCG to another fabulous Antique Car Show in Old Poway Park.
Our costumed group will be joining the Horseless Carriage Club of America (La Jolla Regional Group) and The Edwardians (a newly created living history group) on Saturday September 26 from approx. 10 am to 1 pm. (exact times tbd).
This will be your chance to see beautifully restored antique cars up close, ride the 1907 steam train, and stroll thru the farmers market.
I am hoping that the 1911 Street organ will be back to play fun music when we take a shaded break sitting in chairs in the gazebo.
You/we could picnic or have lunch at a nearby eatery after the Car Show.
Suggested attire is 1910s Edwardian, (similar to picnic or casual costumes as seen in Downton Abbey, Mr. Selfridge, Mary Poppins, Titanic, Sherlock Holmes, to name a few).
The antique cars will be parked near the Gazebo around the fountain.
The Saturday Farmers Market in Old Poway Park is popular, and the City closes part of Midland Road, so a suggestion is to arrive earlier rather than later to find a parking spot. A Park Map will be provided later in a discussion post.

*** UPDATED NOTE: For April’s event, The City of Poway asked SDCG costumers to sign a Volunteer Form, so please see me when you arrive. Thank you.
Below was the suggested Schedule for the last Event.
Please check in at the Gazebo, includes signing a Volunteer Form. I plan to set out water, coffee & light munchies in the morning.
9 am: Antique Car show begins
10 am: Group photo shoot #1 at the Fountain area (where antique cars are parked)
11 am: Tour & photos at the Poway Heritage Museum (Free entry)
12 noon: Group photo shoot #2 at the Gazebo
1 pm: Get tickets and ride the steam train. Photos at the Station and on the train. Formal event ends.
1:15 pm Optional, lunch at Hamburger Factory. Please post, comment or pm me if you would like to attend lunch. Thank you.
