18th Annual Veterans Appreciation Celebration

Come join us for the 18th Annual Chillicothe VAMC Veterans Appreciation Celebration with the Chillicothe Paints! It's a day dedicated to honoring our amazing Veterans and their families in a fun and entertaining way.

Activities will begin at 10:00 am and run throughout the day leading up to our Chillicothe Paints hosting the Lafayette Aviators.

Schedule of Events:

• 10:00 am: Mace House Tours begin
• 10:00 am: 5k Start Time (VA Memorial Stadium parking lot)
• 12:00 pm: Family Activities begin (grassy area in front of gym)
• 12:00 pm: Information Booths open (parking lot in front of building 31)
• 12:00 pm: Food Trucks open
• 12:00 pm: Home Run Derby
• 2:00 pm: Registration opens (VA Memorial Stadium parking lot)
• 2:00 pm: Live music begins
• 5:35 pm: Stadium access and food service begins
• 6:30 pm: Pregame Activities
• 7:05 pm: Paints first pitch
• Fireworks Following the Game

The registration table will be located in the parking lot of VA Memorial Stadium. This is where you will pick up your tickets. Tickets will not be mailed or given prior to event day.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy an evening of honoring our Veterans and families, free food and exciting baseball action as the Chillicothe Paints take the field! You'll be able to cheer on the players and show your support for our Veterans at the same time.

Throughout the evening, there will be special activities and tributes to honor our Veterans. You'll have the opportunity to meet and interact with local Veterans, hear their inspiring stories, and express your gratitude for their service. We will have the Neil Miller Appreciation Flag ceremony during our pregame honoring a local Veteran.

Info: Enjoy a road tour of our beautiful 308 acre campus by way of a 5k race! Walk, run, or roll throughout the scenic grounds of the historic Chillicothe VA Medical Center! The start point is located next to the VA Memorial Stadium Parking Lot (behind the gymnasium).

Info: Tour the historic Mace House, sitting just outside of VA Memorial Stadium next to the golf course. Brimming with artifacts from the days of Camp Sherman, visitors can look through old uniforms, a vast array of news paper articles, and so much more!

Info: Our family activities section will have fun for everyone! Carnival games, prizes, bounce houses, and more! there will be plenty for the kiddos in our family activities section, located in the grassy area next to the gym!

Info: Our food trucks will be on ground from noon until 4pm, right next to the VA Memorial Stadium parking lot! Stay tuned for a full list!

Info: Our full resource fair is back! Located inside the gymnasium, local VA and community vendors are stocked with information and giveaways; the info you may need to get involved in the community, get healthier, or maybe something in between!

Info: Think you can still swing it? Come test your skills on a shortened fence for our first-ever Home Run Derby with the Paints! Enter for a chance to win a signed custom Paints jersey! Spaces are limited, so act fast!

Info: Look for our Mobile Clinic, parked on the north side of the VA Memorial Stadium parking lot. This is your check-in spot for game tickets, meal tickets, and your free 18th Veterans Appreciation t-shirt!

Info: Looking to get into the stadium early? The doors open at 5:35 so you can get in well before our pre-game activities. Grab a hot dog and a seat and kick back before the Paints take the field!

Info: Every year we honor a special Vet with the Neil Miller Appreciation Flag! Hear from our VA Medical Center, Ken Mortimer, listen to the sounds of the anthem while our nations colors are presented, and check out the honorary first pitch!
