About this Event
Overview:
Our 18th annual conference will be virtual so that we may continue to provide education to a large audience. The conference presentations can be viewed LIVE from the comfort of your own home or workplace. It will consist of six speakers that will present on engaging topics of interest to people who work in or are interested in the field of clinical laboratory science. Attendees may choose to attend as many presentations as they wish. A maximum of six P.A.C.E. credits will be offered.
This virtual conference is designed to promote educational opportunities in Clinical Laboratory Medicine. The purpose of this educational activity is to enhance the knowledge of medical laboratory professionals and students by addressing topics related to laboratory medicine.

Who should attend this event?
The target audience includes managers, supervisors, and technologists who work in the field of clinical laboratory science, laboratory medicine, or a related field. Also, students interested in these fields are encouraged to attend.

Accreditation:
Children’s Health is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® program.
Credit Designation:
Children’s Health designates this virtual activity for a maximum of 6 P.A.C.E credits. Attendees should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Instructions for claiming credits will be provided during the conference. Credits will be emailed to the attendee at the email address provided during the claiming process.
Abstract Competition
When and where will the competition be held?
This year’s competition will be a virtual event. Electronic abstracts may be submitted from now until midnight, January 19, 2025. Judging of all accepted abstracts will take place following the submission deadline via private review sessions by the judges.
Who can enter this competition?
The competition is open to all medical laboratory professionals and support staff in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Residents and fellows in laboratory medicine academic programs are also encouraged to participate. Please note: Only one abstract per author is allowed.
What topics can be submitted?
Submissions can span a wide range of laboratory medicine topics, including original research, case studies/series, quality initiatives and process improvement. Standard academic abstract format is required. Please use Microsoft Word format. NO PDF FILES ACCEPTED.
Judging format
Judges will be faculty from the department of Pathology at Children’s Health. Accepted abstracts will be reviewed to determine submissions most meritorious for recognition. Winning authors will be notified by email February 5, 2025. All authors will receive a notification of winning abstracts the day of the conference. More details will be sent to authors upon acceptance of abstract submission.
Awards
Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be selected. The author whose abstract is designated as the 1st place winner will receive a $300 cash award and engraved plaque. Second and third place winners will receive a trophy.
