Eight people from the Living History Society will present a program focused on fashion in the 1860s. This year, there is a new format that will be done in the manner of tableaux vivants (instead of doing a catwalk, so to say).
Tableaux vivants were popular in the 19th century. Participants present a scene from literature or history, and pose in that scene like in a photograph.
This will be a fascinating event for anyone who enjoys history, fashion, textile arts, literature, and photography.
This event is happening during Gammelgården Museum's Season Opening Day that includes many free activities for people of all ages. The historic buildings will be open, with tour guides in each ones; there is an artists, crafters, and vendors fair; food trucks will be on site; and the new exhibits will be ready for viewing!
