Presented by Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV) and ACMI, Monisme is the award-winning feature film by Indonesian artist and filmmaker Riar Rizaldi.
Set around Mount Merapi, one of the world's most active volcanoes, Monisme brings together volcanologists, miners, mystics and local communities to explore the complex relationships between science, mythology, landscape and belief.
Moving between documentary and fiction, reality and speculation, the film invites audiences to consider multiple ways of understanding the world.
