The 17th annual College Creek Cleanup event is taking place on June 27, from 10am-2pm.
In recognition of National Rivers Month, the Office of Sustainability and Keep Iowa State Beautiful are teaming up with Facilities Planning and Management to give College Creek (that runs through the ISU campus and into Campustown) a good cleaning.
Volunteers can choose to walk in the creek or walk along the banks to pick up trash. In addition, to ensure biodiversity along College Creek, volunteers can also assist in the removal of garlic mustard, an invasive species. If you are not familiar with garlic mustard, we will be more than happy to show you what you should look for! Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Supplies (bug repellent, sunscreen, gloves and bags and trash grabbers) will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring your own supplies as well. Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers. For the safety of all attendees, please do not bring any pets.
