🎣 SAVE THE DATE! 🎣The 17th Annual Blair Smith Fishing with Kids Memorial Event is officially set for Saturday, August 23 from 11 AM to 2 PM — and this year, we’re at a new location: Centennial Park in the City of Quinte West!
This free, family-friendly event is one of the most meaningful traditions. We’re planning 150 goodie bags for the first 150 kids, and as always, there will be:
✨ Free food and drinks for kids
🎨 Face painting
🍭 Cotton candy & ice cream
🐟 Fishing fun with amazing prizes – including fishing poles, tackle, and a fishing excursion grand prize!
Last year, over 300 people joined us — we were absolutely blown away by the turnout and the joy that filled the day. This event is so much more than just fishing. It’s a celebration of community, of childhood wonder, and most of all, of Blair’s memory.
This morning, we met with Colleen and Jennifer from the City of Quinte West and Lisa from the DBIA to finalize the details, and the moment was full of both gratitude and emotion. It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years since we lost Blair — and 17 years of honouring him through this event that brings so many smiles and connections.
Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe it — we miss him every day. But we also feel his presence in every laugh, every splash, every prize given away. And in quiet moments, we still hear his voice asking, “How many kids came this year?”
Blair, the answer keeps growing. And your legacy keeps shining. 💙
