Step Into 1776 by Lantern Light
Join us for a special evening at the George Taylor House as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and look toward the future of this National Historic Landmark.
1776 by Lantern Light: A Preservation Preview invites guests to experience the House in a relaxed open-house setting illuminated by the replica lanterns found throughout the historic rooms.
Wander at your own pace while historically dressed guides share the stories of George Taylor, the House, and life during the Revolutionary era. Enjoy music, a tasting and glass of wine from Sleepy Cat Winery, light grazing-style refreshments, and special touches throughout the property.
Meet the Preservation Team
This evening also offers a unique opportunity to meet the preservation professionals working with the George Taylor House on its historic Window Preservation Project.
Guests can see the windows up close, ask questions about their condition, learn about traditional preservation methods, view examples of the restoration process, and discover what is involved in protecting these remarkable pieces of the House for future generations.
The George Taylor House Association has already raised nearly $12,000 toward the first phase of the Window Preservation Project, and this evening is an opportunity to see firsthand what your support is helping make possible.
