Historian and educator Mark Albertson will explore three texts that trace America’s journey toward independence: The Articles of Association (1774), The Declaration of the Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms (1775), and the Declaration of Independence (1776). Learn how the colonies moved from protest to revolution and discover the significant message contained within the Declaration’s formal title—a message King George III would have understood immediately.
Presented by the Norwalk Historical Society in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Norwalk Historical Society is an America 250|CT Affiliate.
