SOUNDSCAPES – Light, Noise, and Me is a photography exhibition about live music, emotions, and personal change. The project explores concerts not just as performances, but as spaces where people feel, reflect, and connect — both with others and with themselves.
At the heart of the exhibition is the work of photographer Ekaterina Iakiamseva, whose journey has grown together with Stockholm’s live music scene. Over several years, she photographed concerts from the inside — not only watching, but fully being part of the experience. Her camera becomes a way to capture movement, atmosphere, and inner states rather than perfect moments.
The exhibition unfolds like a visual diary. The earlier images are darker, blurred, and full of noise, reflections, and distortion. They reflect confusion, searching, and emotional intensity — moments where feelings are stronger than form. As the series develops, the images become clearer and brighter. The focus slowly shifts toward the stage, the musicians, and the source of the sound itself.
This change is not about leaving darkness behind, but about finding balance. Shadow and light, intuition and clarity, inner experience and outer reality exist side by side. Filters and visual effects appear both as artistic tools and as metaphors — reminding us that we all experience the world through our own personal lens.
Together, the photographs form a story where music becomes a way to listen inward, while concerts become shared spaces of presence, energy, and reflection.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a subtle sound element — such as a DJ set or live performance — along with light or visual details inspired by live shows. These elements are not meant to turn the space into a club, but to gently extend the atmosphere of the images.
SOUNDSCAPES – Light, Noise, and Me invites visitors into a space where photography, sound, and lived experience meet — a place to look, feel, and simply be present.
