16 Days of Activism: Film Screening DOUBLE BILL

Beginning 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2025, with an evening of powerful films and meaningful discussion.

Join us on Tuesday 25 November 2025 as we mark the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with a double bill of two powerful films and meaningful discussion on this urgent and ongoing issue.

Building on the momentum of last year’s impactful 16 day festival of poetry and events, Dr Kim Moore, Sarah Cleave and Dr Frazer Heritage will present a short film by filmmaker Kirstie Henderson of Brave Day Productions which reflects on the 2024 festival.

For the second part of the screening double bill Becky Clarke (of MMU’s Justice Project) will host a screening of local playwright Caroline Lamb’s ‘On Me’. ‘On Me’ won an Off West End award for its run on the Greater Manchester Fringe in 2022. The film has been produced in collaboration with Endeavour domestic abuse charity and current and former students of Bolton University.

This event honours the individuals and communities working tirelessly to drive change, improve practice, and create safe, informed spaces for those affected by gender-based violence to express themselves and be heard

On Me

Presented by Dangerous To Know Theatre Company and Endeavour

Written by Caroline Lamb
Directed by Helen Parry

Run time : 1hr 2 minutes

Christian and Shona have been cast in a tacky true crime docudrama as an abusive predator and his victim. As the two actors explore the undeniable attraction forming between them off set, they stumble into questions of male responsibility, female safety and the dangers of modern romance - and things get still more complicated once the camera starts rolling.
On Me won an Off West End award for its run on the Greater Manchester Fringe in 2022. The play focuses on themes of Gender-Based Violence and comes with the following content warnings: Brief depictions of sexual assault, scenes of alcohol use, coarse language, references to stalking and femicide and instances of sexism.

On Me is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and supported by Endeavour ()
