February 9, 2004 was a devastating day for our congregation. Members and neighbors watched as our former church burned down. Yet, the Triune God graciously saw us through that troubling time and ultimately refined us by fire. A few years later we began worshipping at our present church campus. By God’s grace, we are as strong as ever — faithful to Christ and His Word, united in the Spirit, eager to extend the love of our Savior to our community.Join us for this second celebration of our 150th Anniversary. A festive Divine Service begins at 9:00am, featuring special Scripture readings, joyous hymns and music, and a Christ-centered sermon by Rev. Marvin Metzger. After Bible Class and Sunday School all are invited to stay for a potluck meal (meat is being provided; bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to pass). Refined by fire, we rejoice in God’s faithfulness to us and all generations here at Saint John!
