150 Years of the Fourth Ward School: A Commemorative Celebration
About this Event
Join us for an evening celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Historic Fourth Ward School, one of Nevada's most treasured landmarks and the nation's only surviving four-story wooden schoolhouse.
On Saturday, September 19, 2026, guests are invited to gather inside this remarkable National Historic Landmark to commemorate a century and a half of education, community, and preservation. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and the opportunity to explore the school while connecting with fellow supporters of Comstock history.
The evening will feature special presentations from historians, preservation advocates, and community members whose efforts have helped protect and preserve the Fourth Ward School for future generations, as well as live music from Squeek Steele. Together, we will reflect on the building's extraordinary journey from its opening in 1876 at the height of the Comstock mining boom to its transformation into a museum dedicated to sharing Nevada's rich heritage.
