Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this symposium participants will
- Explore innovations in pediatric surgery and anesthesiology that may impact delivery of pediatric critical care.
- Discuss critical care best practices for surgery to ICU handoff.
- Evaluate emerging approaches to minimize post-operative complications in critically ill children.
- Assess the care pathway for urgent/emergent surgery consultation for select unstable, critically ill children .
Who Should Attend:
All pediatric critical care providers (nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social work, nutritionists, OT/PT/ST) will find value in this symposium. It is likely that pediatric subspecialty care providers in general will also find the course interesting. Anyone interested in pediatric acute and critical care is invited to attend.
