14th Annual Taste of Africa Festival
About this Event
Taste of Africa® is back for its 14th year on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Bankhead Theater Plaza in Downtown Livermore.
Come spend the day with us as we gather around the music, food, stories, artistry, and traditions of Africa and her Diaspora.
From the main stage to the dance floor, the food court, Karibu Circle Kids Zone, and African marketplace, there will be something happening throughout the day for children, teens, adults, and elders.
What to Expect
Guests can enjoy:
- Live African and Diaspora music and dance performances
- Free dance and cultural workshops for all experience levels
- African and Diaspora food vendors
- Clothing, jewelry, art, beauty products, books, and handmade goods
- Storytelling and cultural education
- Face painting, crafts, and hands-on children’s activities
- Karibu Circle Kids Zone
- Community organizations, resources, and family services
- Opportunities to meet artists, small-business owners, and cultural leaders
Additional artists, food vendors, marketplace businesses, activities, and special guests will be announced as the festival approaches.
Admission and Registration
Taste of Africa is free and open to the public.
Advance registration is encouraged so we can share important festival updates and better understand which communities our guests are traveling from. Registration does not reserve seating or guarantee space in individual workshops.
