About this Event
Carnival season is calling — and this year, it’s bringing a whole lot of heart.
The Krewe de Joi at the Fare Thee Well Foundation cordially invites you to our 14th Annual Mardi Gras Ball. Join us Saturday, February 14th, at The Moonshadow Tavern in Tucker for a night of rhythm, revelry, and giving back with love.
Since we’ve landed right on Valentine’s Day, we’re transforming the Moonshadow into the ultimate New Orleans house party — a place where the music is shared, the beads are plentiful, and the love for our community is the guest of honor.
Festive Mardi Gras masks, funky threads, or a splash of Valentine’s red are highly encouraged (but never required).
A Celebration of Music and Love: This Ball is the heartbeat of our mission. Every ticket and donation helps us support youth music camps, provide music education, and create community-building projects for children of all ages — regardless of their financial circumstances.
Over the years, the Fare Thee Well Mardi Gras Ball has grown into one of Atlanta's most authentic traditions because of the love you show these kids. Let’s pack the Moonshadow, share the spirit of the Big Easy, and raise the funds needed to keep the music playing for the next generation.
The Schedule:
• 8:00 PM — String ’n Bones (Honoring Bobby Weir)
• 9:15 PM — Doug Deluxe & The Rodeo Clowns
• 10:20 PM — The Squirrelheads
• 11:45 PM — Old Matt Donald’s Farm
Share the Love: If you can’t make it to the party, you can still be a part of the magic! Support our mission by donating at www.paypal.me/ftwfoundation or by visiting www.faretheewellfoundation.org. We thank you in advance for your generosity and for being the heart of this foundation.
About the Foundation: The Fare Thee Well Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our board and supporters are compensated only by the joy of giving back and the harmony we create together. If you’re looking to increase your "joy level" this year, we’re always looking for like-minded folks to share their talents. Let’s do great (and fun) things together!Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!
We can’t wait to celebrate Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras with you!
Agenda
🕑: 08:00 PM - 09:00 PM
String 'n Bones
Info: String 'n Bones will be honoring the memory of the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir. SnB is a 5-piece Atlanta band that celebrates American acoustic rock from San Francisco to San Antonio and on to the Southland - without all the frills. They rely on tasty musicianship, tight harmonies, moving dynamics and great song selection.
🕑: 09:15 PM - 10:05 PM
Doug Deluxe & The Rodeo Clowns
Info: Doug Deluxe & The Rodeo Clowns are true believers in Western Swing, that uniquely American art form fusing big band jazz, blues, and country. Born in Texas and Oklahoma dancehalls during the 1930s-40s, Western Swing was Saturday night music — sophisticated enough for jazz cats, countrified enough for cowboys, and irresistible to dancers.
They understand this music in their bones, studying masters like Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys and modern torchbearers like Asleep At The Wheel. But they're not museum curators — they're a living, breathing Western Swing machine making this music feel fresh and exciting.
Whether you're a longtime devotee or discovering Western Swing for the first time, Doug Deluxe & The Rodeo Clowns deliver pure American music at its finest.
🕑: 10:20 PM - 11:30 PM
The Squirrelheads
Info: The Squirrelheads have been carrying the flag for New Orleans funk, boogie-woogie and Mardi Gras music in Atlanta and North Georgia since 2001. As one of Atlanta's most-requested New Orleans-style bands, their signature sound combines fat funk rhythms, that second beat, and the undeniable Big Easy spirit, delivering pure musical joy from the first note on. Blending original tunes with deep groove traditions, The Squirrelheads bring authentic New Orleans energy every time they take the stage. Stick around late-night for a second Squirrelheads set where they bring back some of the greatest dance tunes of 70s and early 80s!
🕑: 11:45 PM - 01:00 AM
Old Matt Donald's FARM
Info: Having just released their newest album "Sing For You," Old Matt Donald's FARM continues to cultivate homegrown original americana/rock in the ATL.
