Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
What are Salsa and Bachata?
Salsa and Bachata are vibrant, rhythmic partner dances known for their energetic movements and rich musicality. They are danced to a wide variety of Latin music, making them versatile and fun.
Do I need a partner?
No partner is necessary to join! Salsa and Bachata are partner dances, but during our classes, we encourage everyone to switch partners. This approach allows you to dance with multiple people, enhancing your learning experience and social interaction.
If you prefer not to switch partners and wish to dance only with the person you came with, that’s perfectly fine too! We understand and respect personal preferences and comfort levels.
Dancing with different partners is highly beneficial as it helps you develop your leading and following skills. Each dancer has a unique style and rhythm, which can greatly enhance your adaptability and proficiency. By experiencing different dance partners, you’ll become a more versatile and confident dancer, better equipped to handle a variety of social dance settings.
But I have two left feet/ I can't dance/ I have always sucked at dancing! Then you’ve come to the right place! We are experts in helping you find your 'right' foot and discover your dance potential. Our instructors are patient, supportive, and skilled in working with beginners to build confidence and skill.
What should I bring to the classes?
Indoor shoes: Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the studio. Dance shoes, clean sneakers, or sock feet are fine.
Water bottle: Stay hydrated during your dance sessions.
Deodorant/change of shirt: It might get warm, so having a change of shirt can keep you comfortable.
No alcohol: To maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, we ask that you refrain from bringing alcohol.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
Avoid excessively loose or baggy clothing that might interfere with your dancing.
• Choose breathable fabrics to stay cool and comfortable.
What can I expect in a class?
• A fun and supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace.
• Step-by-step instruction tailored to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers.
• Opportunities to practice with different partners, enhancing your skills and social experience.
• Engaging music and a lively atmosphere that makes learning to dance enjoyable.
