Join us for the 12th annual Mother Language Festival — a vibrant multicultural celebration honoring the languages, cultures, and traditions that make our communities rich and unique.
Organized by the Mother Language Lovers of the World Society (MLLWS), this beloved Lower Mainland tradition brings together people from all backgrounds for a day of cultural performances, music, dance, art, literature, traditional food, and family-friendly activities. Every language has a story. Come share yours.
The festival is held in the spirit of International Mother Language Day (February 21), proclaimed by UNESCO and recognized in Canadian law through the unanimous passage of Bill S-214, which received Royal Assent in 2023 — a milestone our organization was proud to champion after more than 25 years of advocacy.
Whether you're here to celebrate your heritage, discover a new culture, or simply enjoy an afternoon of music and food with your family — you belong here.
