Cooks Entry fee: $50
Fish is the only seafood allowed in stew due to allergies.
Fish-stew will be judged by a team of at least 3 judges. Public voting will select the winner of the People’s Choice. The Showmanship winner will be selected by the coordinating committee.
1st place: $150, trophy and bragging rights
2nd place: $75 and trophy
3rd place: $25 and trophy
Showmanship winner: $100 and trophy
People’s Choice: John Burton Jr. Award of Excellence $100 and trophy
Set up will begin at 8:00 and cooking can begin at that time. Cooks are to cook on-site at the rear parking lot of Mother Earth Brewing LLC. Cooks are responsible for cooking apparatus, tables, utensils and ingredients. We suggest 5/6 gallons to allow samples. Numbers will be the only identification used until after judging.
Taste judging will begin at 11:00. Once bowls for judges are picked up by appointed volunteers, you may begin serving sample bowls to those with wristbands.
GI Joe’s and Mother Earth Brewing, LLC will provide wristband, sampling bowls, spoons and one beer ticket to the public for $10 donation to GI Joe’s Military Museum. Mother Earth Brewing, LLC will offer one (1) craft beer in exchange for the beer ticket. Additional beer will be available in the tap room. Sodas and water will also be available.
