The way you join is picking up a legendary creature from the store for free. Than with that card make a deck around said card for $100 or less for starting deck. The first week the chosen card must be your commander. After week 1 it can change.Any unspent budget making the deck will be lost and not roll over to the $300 budget you have for the next 11 weeks.
3 weeks before the league starts will need to come in and pick the commander of choice to make the deck to start from December 27th and onwards. Any later date just means less build times.
Each week you can change out up to 10 cards each week using any $ amount of cards value at TCG low of the lowest version of the card, regardless of which version you have.
Each week on Thursday day before that weeks league need to show what putting in and current day price to be recorded how much of your budget has been spent.
Any cards wanting to swap out for different art work is fine without counting towards the 10 card limit or budget.
Any card swap out will still need to follow WOTC rules for following ban list and no proxies. Failing to follow this will disqualify for the week. Failing to follow will disqualify the rest of the league and any prizes for said league.
Any questions feel free to ask!
For this league, I am adjusting the simple points-based system to a simplified ELO system.
While a true ELO system would be too complex, I have added a “catch-up” mechanic to the
scoring system.
A brief breakdown:
All players start with 500 points. Each game, if a player eliminates another player, they take 20
points from that player. For example, in week 1, round 1, one player defeats all other players.
That person earns 60 points and each other player loses 20 points apiece. Each player still in a
game in the event of a draw does not take or lose any points to any other player that remained
in the game at the time of the draw. Any eliminations prior to the draw are calculated as normal.
If a player takes points from another player, the number of points exchanged can vary based on
the relative scores. If a player with a lower score defeats a player with a higher score and the
difference is 50 points or greater than the other player, they take 40 points instead of the regular
20 points. In reverse, if a player with a higher score defeats a player with a lower score and the
difference is 50 points or greater, they take only 10 points instead of the regular 20 points.
Additionally, if a player with a lower score defeats a player with a higher score and the difference
is 100 points or greater than the other player, they take 80 points instead of the regular 20
points. In reverse, if a player with a higher score defeats a player with a lower score and the
difference is 100 points or greater, they take only 5 points instead of the regular 20 points.
My hope is that with this catch-up mechanism in place, the games and the league will be more
competitive, as intended.
