The story takes place in a jury deliberation room, where twelve jurors must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. At first, the case seems clear-cut, and many jurors are ready to deliver a guilty verdict. However, one juror raises doubts, insisting they discuss the case further. As tensions rise, the jurors confront their biases, assumptions, and personal experiences, revealing deep-seated prejudices and moral dilemmas.
The play powerfully examines group dynamics, critical thinking, and the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of overwhelming opposition.
