Join us as we review nearly six decades of The Women of Hanford: The Cold War Years 1947 -1991. Women continued to play a vital role in the evolution of the Hanford Site mission following WWII. The country ramped up, then scaled back plutonium production throughout the Cold War era as it embarked on missions leading to the current clean up phase.
A dedicated, steady, and reliable workforce was needed. The women of Hanford stepped up, filling roles in labor, laboratories, leadership and more.
