Did you know that 75% of adults developed a fear of public speaking from as young as under 12 years of age. In a world where public speaking is an essential skill in both our personal and professional lives our course aims to help children to become confident in their own voice. To enjoy the experience of speaking in front of others rather than dread it.

Public Speaking is a learnt skill which means that with practice everyone can be good at it. During our six week course we will show our students how to breathe properly to get rid of any nerves they might have and also how to project their voice. To use delivery skills such as rate and pace, tone and intonation to keep their audience interested in what they have to say. Good articulation and diction so that everyone in the room can hear them. Finally how to deliver their points in a clear and concise manner. When we feel confident in our voice we are happy to stand up in front of others to express our opinions and this is what we want to instil in our students.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN

– How to use your voice to engage your audience

– How to keep your audience’s attention

– Breathing techniques

– Develop your delivery skillS

-Confidence training

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT US!

6th Class partook in a weekly Public Speaking course with Dublin School of Drama and Communication under the direction of Jill Anderson in November and December 2023. The course was great. The students were given the opportunity to develop their oral language skills, increase their listening skills and most importantly, overcome the fear of public speaking. The course developed the children’s self confidence and self esteem in a safe environment – Jill always ensured that each member of the class was comfortable with every task they completed.

6th Class thoroughly enjoyed the course with Jill and looked forward to it every week. I would definitely recommend this course to others.
