11th Annual Mountain View Oktoberfest
About this Event
Prost! Mountain View Oktoberfest Returns to Castro Street!
Grab your stein, dust off the dirndl and lace up the lederhosen. The 11th Annual Mountain View Oktoberfest returns October 10 and 11, 2026, bringing two days of authentic Bavarian food, beer, live German music, contests and plenty of Gemütlichkeit to the heart of Downtown Mountain View.
Praised as one of the Bay Area's more authentic Oktoberfest celebrations, Mountain View Oktoberfest takes over Castro Street with an even larger footprint for 2026, giving you more room to eat, drink, dance and celebrate.
Admission is FREE!
Experience Oktoberfest Under the Giant Festzelt
At the heart of the celebration is our massive 200 foot Festzelt, transforming Castro Street into a lively Bavarian beer hall.
Grab a seat at one of the long communal tables, raise a glass with friends and enjoy live German music while beer flows in true glass steins and boots.
Whether Oktoberfest is an annual tradition or you're joining us for the first time, the Festzelt is where you'll want to be.
A Bigger Taste of Germany
The German Guys return with an expanded menu for 2026, serving even more German favorites throughout the weekend.
Dig into sizzling sausages, schnitzel, strudel and other German specialties paired with a curated selection of German bier.
Two Days of Bavarian Fun
Mountain View Oktoberfest combines the traditions of a Bavarian beer hall with the energy of Downtown Mountain View for a weekend filled with:
- Authentic German food
- German style and imported beer and wine
- Massive 200 foot Festzelt
- Beer served in true glass steins and boots
- Live German music all weekend
- Stein Holding Competitions
- Bavarian Attire Contests
- Dancing and games
- Long communal tables
- Family friendly fun
- Plenty of Gemütlichkeit!
Live German Music All Weekend
Deutscher MusikVerein kicks things off from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM Saturday and Sunday, filling the Festzelt with traditional German music and Oktoberfest favorites.
Then BlowMusik! takes over from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM both days with its high energy mix of German and Oktoberfest music.
Expect plenty of dancing, singing, stein raising and audience participation along the way.
Think You Can Hold Your Stein?
Strength. Endurance. Bragging rights.
The legendary Stein Holding Competition returns both days, challenging competitors to hold a full stein straight out at arm's length longer than everyone else.
Break Out the Lederhosen & Dirndls
This is Oktoberfest. Dress accordingly!
Come decked out in your best Bavarian attire and enter the Bavarian Attire Contest, where standout lederhosen, dirndls and Oktoberfest style compete for prizes and bragging rights.
Traditional attire isn't required to attend, but it certainly makes the party more fun.
Bigger on Castro Street for 2026
Following last year's successful move onto Castro Street, Mountain View Oktoberfest is expanding another block in 2026.
The larger footprint means more space to celebrate while keeping everything that has made Oktoberfest a Bay Area fall tradition front and center: great German food, flowing beer, live music, communal tables and a festive atmosphere built around bringing people together.
