Join us in person for the 11th Annual Looking Back Into the Future Black History Month Conference! It’s a fantastic event to celebrate history, culture, and community. Learn more about the inspirational life of the Honourable Dr. Jean Augustine and watch her documentary, “Steadfast: The Messenger And The Message,” to learn more about her impactful life!
There will be performances and also the second edition of the essay and artwork competition for grade 7 and 8 students. This essay and artwork competition component ensures that the talents and gifts of youth in the Durham Region are recognized and amplified. There will also be an opportunity for conference attendees to network, visit vendor tables, engage in meaningful conversationsand and enjoy the 2026 Canada Post Black History Month stamp unveiling.
