Bikes. Blues. Beer. Ride along as Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail visit the corridors’ historical cemeteries to soak up the stories and the songs of the men and women whose lives and music forged the Chicago Blues.
Stand among the ghosts of Magic Sam, Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor, Willie Dixon and a host of others while Blues artist and historian Harmonica Neil and and his son, bassist Nelson Florek dig into their music graveside, sharing songs and stories of the legends resting below.
The biking is a leisurely 22 miles of connecting side streets along the Cal-Sag in Blue Island and Alsip. We’ll invite the spirits to return with us for food and libations at our host venue, the Blue Island Beer Co., one of the finest drinking establishments in the Chicago Southland.
