Monthly picnics take place at All Nations Park in Northcote (the accessible Playspace entrance is on Brickworks Lane - NOT the playground closest to the Plaza) for families with either parents or/and kids who are LGBTQIA+. All letters of the alphabet/colours of the rainbow welcome, please self-select IN 🌈🌈🌈 (Bloody excellent allies who are super-close rainbow family friends also welcome).
11am first Sunday of the month.
BYO everything you need (food, drinks, hats, sunscreen, balls, frisbees, whatever). There are chairs and tables undercover and toilets nearby. No expectations that you bring sharing food (this doesn't work for some kids), please just do what works for your family.
This picnic is not affiliated with any formal group but is posted across a few local groups so that people know about it. Please share.
We welcome all varieties of rainbow families attending (ie queer, trans, bi, single, coupled, poly, foster families, disabled family members), pregnant people and members of our community preparing to conceive.
Let's normalise introducing ourselves using pronouns to try and make this a safer group.

A NOTE RE PICNIC START & END TIMES:
Please note that the end time is a guesstimate. The event used to say we go to 3pm as during summer ☀️ several of us do just stay and stay. People tend to arrive and leave in dribs and drabs and it changes depending on how many there are of us, the weather, whims of children... I've changed the end time in the event to 1.30pm in case we do wrap up early and noone is disappointed if most families are leaving when they arrive. It's likely we'll go longer, noone is going to kick you out and we're an informal, unstructured riff-raffy group of families not a formal event, per se. Anyway, I hope this helps. We're looking for a volunteer to review and update this event description and our broader group description (maybe also add a pinned post) if someone wants to have a crack at that.
