118th Memorial Tribute to America's First POWs

The SOCIETY OF OLD BROOKLYNITES, founded in 1880 are holding a public event at Monument Plaza in Fort Greene Park. Programs include opening ceremonies by FDNY Ceremonial Unit and Pipers, Maritime Piping, wreath laying, National Anthem, Taps, 8 slow bells and narrative on the 11,500 sailors, marines, soldiers buried under the 149-foot-tall Monument. Playing of the Navy Hymn "Eternal Father" Free admission - open to the public.
