Schedule
Sat Feb 14 2026 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
UTC-05:00Location
Springside Park | Pittsfield, MA
While identifying trees without leaves may seem daunting, winter is actually an excellent time to learn. Without foliage, flowers, or fruit, participants will discover how to recognize trees and shrubs year-round by closely examining often-overlooked features such as buds, twigs, bark, and overall tree structure. Guided by BEAT naturalist and tree enthusiast Chelsey Simmons, this walk will focus on common trees found in the New England landscape.
The walk will be stop-and-go and will take place entirely outdoors. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress in layers. No prior experience or knowledge is required, and all are welcome; however, participation is limited to 10 people.
RSVP is required to reserve your spot and receive meeting location details. Email [email protected] to register.
