Funds raised go directly to The Foundation for Prader Willi Research. Prader Will is a rare, life threatening disease that is caused by a deletion in the 15th chromosome. It has several complications including low muscle tone, failure to thrive, sleep issues, temperature dis regulation- but the most terrifying complication is the bodies inability to feel full. The brain and the stomach do not communicate, leaving those with Prader Willi to believe they are starving. This issue can lead to over eating until death and a complete lack of independence.
There is HOPE!! The Foundation for Prader Willi Research is a non profit organization that raises funds for research! There are several opportunities for possible treatments and clinical trials for promising medications. These may lead to longer lives and independence! You can learn more at www.FPWR.org.
