Beginner Kayaking 101! Another great Staycation adventure!!
Learn to paddle a kayak downriver with confidence!
Our professional instructors will show /demonstrate river/water safety, reading the water, reading the weather, what to bring on the river paddle, different paddling strokes and making a trip plan before each outing.
After the river safety instructions, we will have each of the students in a kayak, (tethered with a rope by the instructors), giving you instructions on paddle forward, reverse paddle and paddle in place.
Once student has mastered the fundamentals, they will join with an instructor to paddle upriver a short way, then down river around an island and back to the riverbank.
After all students have accomplished these paddling tasks, we will serve a tasty lunch of fresh fruit, gourmet cheese & crackers, chips & salsa, veggie platter, dessert and cold drinks to enjoy in the camp chairs provided.
Once you have completed our 101 kayaking class, you will be able to rent out our kayaks from our store location in Las Cruces to take with you on your own adventure!
When: July 11h, Saturday
Where meetup: La Llorona Park off Picacho Road, Las Cruces, NM
Age limit: 16 years old and above, Parent must accompany them.)
Ticket price: $45.00 per person, plus tax.
Time duration: 10:00AM start, 2 hours instructions near bank, short upriver paddle, then lunch, should be completed by 1:30pm.
All students will be issued life jackets.
