Be transported back to Eighteenth-Century Versailles, the ballrooms of London and Paris with the period music of Follia at the These Old Shades Ball hosted by Georgettes of Oxford celebrate 100 years of These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer, graciously supported by the Heyer Estate.
The ball will take place in the beautiful Medieval building of The Divinity School, part of The Bodleian; and is the oldest surviving purpose-built building of the University of Oxford.
We will have a range from easy to intermediate level early to mid-Eighteenth-Century dances, which Georgette Heyer’s characters could have danced, as well as some Country and Baroque Dance Displays.
Date: Sunday the 4th of October
Time: 6:30-9:45pm
Cost: £60
Venue: The Divinity School, The Bodleian, Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3BG
Dress code: Preferably Mid-Eighteenth Century, but Regency and modern black tie also welcome

Free dance workshop at the Weston Library, the Bodleian on the afternoon of the 4th of October for attendees of the Ball; details to follow.
Please Note
There will be no bar; free bottles of water will be available
There will not be any food served at the Ball, so please eat before hand
We will be dancing on a flagstone dance floor, which will be hard and potentially uneven
As it is an old building it may be cold in October
