From its legendary past to its vibrant present, we're honouring 100 years of the Star Hotel with a weekend packed with history, entertainment, and unforgettable moments.

Friday, August 29th - 7pm
-Historic Marker Unveiling ceremony
-Live Music with locals TNR - The New Rockin Band, then DJs later in the night, playing all your favourites.
-Opening of the Photo & memorabilia display (sourced from private collections) & QR Digital History Trail - available all weekend
Saturday, August 30th - 8pm
- Star-Studded Drag Lineup celebrating the LGBTQIA+ history of the venue
- Featuring original Star performer Jaymie Swan Plus performances by Chanel Detroit, She Needa & Orlando Gloom
- DJs playing your favourite gay anthems through the ages from 9pm.
Sunday, August 31st - 6:00pm
- Star Riot Documentary Screening with director Glenn Dormand in person
- Chat with the filmmaker and find out what we have discovered since the documentary was relased.
- History talk with Newcastle Rainbow History Group - what we've uncovered about LGBTQIA+ history and The Star.
