April is Landscape Architecture Month!
The Sarasota School of Architecture transformed buildings and redefined the relationship between architecture, landscape, and Florida's unique environment. This special program explores the essential role of landscape in shaping Modernism and the ways designers integrated buildings, climate, vegetation, and outdoor living into a cohesive experience. A keynote lecture will provide broader perspectives on the evolution and significance of modern landscape design, followed by a guided tour of significant Sarasota sites that illustrate these ideas in practice. This immersion in landscapes wraps up with a festive cocktail party. Together, the lecture, tour, and party celebrate the landscape legacy of the Sarasota School while offering fresh insight into the enduring relationship between design, place, and the natural environment.
