100+ Women Who Care SSM uses a unique fundraising model -- we get 100 or more women together a few time a year, for about an hour, to raise $10K or more for a small, local charity or NFP! It is a simple, efficient and effective funding model -- together we have donated almost $390,000 for small, local groups who are doing amazing work in our community!
Our next event on February 18th will focus on Connect the Dots!
Connect the Dots was founded in 2017 and is 100% volunteer.
They too have a brilliantly simple, brilliantly effective model - volunteers rescue good food which might otherwise go to waste, and bring it to agencies for distribution to those in need in our community.
From 2017- 2024 they rescued food primarily from local markets at closing time, with annual totals of 6,000 to 12,000 pounds of food.
In 2025 they rescued 154,000 pounds!! In 2026 they are likely to exceed 200,000 pounds. That is approximately 188,000 meals!
Connect the Dots works closely with local grocery stores, Cobs Bakery, Tuomos Bakery, local markets in season, etc., to address food insecurity through Harvest Algoma, Salvation Army, Soya, Pauline’s Place, Vincent Place, Soup Kitchen, and others.
If you can donate $100 or more either individually or as part of a group, please RSVP for this event -- your donation is amplified when we do it together!
Doors open at 5:30 pm on February 18 at the wonderful Water Tower Inn, in The Pavillion.
