10 years ago on November 15, 2014 I was just about to begin a 5K at Centennial Park when I got the news that the man who gave his daughter's hand to me in marriage had lost his battle with cancer.
So to honor the memory of Mr. Russell Robert Wilson, Jr., I will be running and walking laps around Centennial Park.
This will be a fat ass run (meaning self-supported for those not familiar with ultra running terminology). Park you car, preferably close to the trail so your car acts as an aid station and join me in running to show that #CancerSucks.
I'm not charging any entrance fee, I only ask you make a donation to Johns Hopkins Cancer Research.
Run or walk as far and as long as you are able.
I am eternally grateful to my father-in-law for trusting me to love, protect and care for his beautiful daughter!
