Join us for an engaging evening of film and conversation at the Charlotte Urban Design Center’s South End Studio as we screen10 Towns that Changed America, the acclaimed PBS documentary hosted by Geoffrey Baer.

Host Geoffrey Baer takes viewers across the country to explore the streets, neighborhoods, and communities that helped shape the way Americans live. From the colonial streets of St. Augustine and Philadelphia to the planned communities of Greenbelt, Maryland, and Seaside, Florida, the film examines ten influential towns whose bold planning ideas left a lasting mark on urban development across the nation.

As Charlotte continues to grow and evolve, the questions explored in this film remain as relevant as ever. How should we balance growth with livability? What role should parks, streets, housing, and public spaces play in shaping community life?
