WHAT IS A 10-SINGLES FUN EVENT? IT’S FOCUS IS ON FUN and letting the dogs have fun. As its name implies it is a series of 10 single retrieves, no doubles, triples, or blinds, just singles. The first four series are guaranteed whether your dog completes the retrieve or not.
RULES – The rules are simple:
Type of Retrieve – All marks will be singles (one bird thrown, one bird retrieved). The term “retrieved” means find and return the bird unassisted. The term “returned” means to return the bird to the handler’s hand, or cross a pre-established finish line with the bird. Hand delivery will be rated higher than just passing the finish line and dropping the bird.
Number of Retrieves (Series) – There will be a total of 10 Series. All participating dogs regardless of completing a successful retrieve will be guaranteed to run in the first four series. Beginning with Series 5, only dogs that have successfully completed Series 1-4, and subsequently each series thereafter, will be called back to continue to the next series.
Age Categories – There will be two age categories: Young Dogs (those 18 months and younger, and Older Dogs (those over 18 months).
Judges – TBD
Judging Criteria – Competing dogs will be judged on two criteria:
Efficiency of the retrieve and training discipline displayed, i.e. straight path to the bird.
Delivery to hand.
Junior Hunt Test Line Rules apply. Light restraint with a flat, bare collar is permitted.
Awards – Awards will be given to the top three (3) dogs over 18 months and the top dog in the 18 months and younger category. The First Place older dog and handler will have their names engraved on the club 10-Singles Perpetual Plaque.
Entry Fee – For each dog entered there will be an entry fee of $50. The entry fee includes one live flyer and at a minimum participation in the first four series.
Time and Place – The 10-Single Series Fun Event will be held on July 18, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Bunnell Property, 123 Val Vista, Roseburg OR.
**RSVP** ([email protected]) – If you are interested in participating, please RSVP by July 6th, the dogs you are entering and their age. This will give the club time to order birds and make food arrangements. This event is open to club members only.
