About this Event

About this event

Math support for kids who know more than they can always show.

If your child understands math but struggles to get started, stay focused, slow down, or keep going when they get stuck, this session is designed for them.

Catcher Academy offers personalized 1-on-1 math support for students in Grades 4–9 with ADHD or attention challenges.

During each 60-minute session, your child works directly with Tony, Catcher Academy’s co-founder and an experienced math tutor who has spent 10+ years teaching students, including many with ADHD and attention challenges.

No formal ADHD diagnosis is required.

What happens during the session?

This is a real 1-on-1 math session — not a sales demo.

Tony will work with your child at their current level and pay attention not only to whether they get the answer right, but also how they approach the problem, where they lose focus, when they get stuck, and what kind of support helps them re-engage.

Depending on your child, the session may include:

  • Current schoolwork or math topics they are struggling with
  • Personalized explanations and problem-solving strategies
  • Support with slowing down, getting started, and staying engaged
  • A chance to try parts of Catcher Academy’s developing learning technology

This may be a good fit if your child…
  • gets distracted easily during math
  • understands the material but makes careless mistakes
  • has trouble starting homework without repeated reminders
  • rushes through problems
  • shuts down or gets frustrated when stuck
  • needs frequent redirection to stay with a problem

A formal ADHD diagnosis is not required.

What parents get
  • Personalized learning report — After each session, we’ll email parents a short report covering what we worked on, what we noticed about your child’s learning and attention patterns, and what to focus on next.
  • Progress tracking over time — For returning families, we’ll build on previous sessions and track progress instead of starting from scratch each week.
  • 3 months of Catcher membership — NYC pilot families will receive 3 months of complimentary Catcher Academy membership when our product launches.

What we ask from families

Our post-session learning report will usually include a short parent survey. Since this is still a pilot, ongoing feedback from families helps us improve both the sessions and the product.

In September, we welcomed our first 10 NYC families into the pilot, and the experience has been encouraging so far. We’re excited to welcome more families as we continue learning and improving together.
