A hands-on workshop for experienced .NET developers who want to get up to speed on all the patterns, features and capabilities introduced in .NET 10 and C# 14.
Since .NET 5, Microsoft has shipped a new release of .NET and C# every year, adding a steady stream of features and capabilities to the world’s most powerful development platform (yeah, I said it!)
With .NET 10 and C# 14 in 2025, we’ve got a host of new C# language features to play with – from “extension everything”, a new syntax for adding extension properties, methods, static members and even user-defined operators to existing classes, to new features supporting native compilation and AOT for smaller binaries and faster deployments, to file-based apps that let you run .cs files directly. ASP.NET Core adds new support for validating minimal APIs, new OpenAPI features, and server-side events, and EF Core 10 has better tooling for AI workflows with vector embeddings, support for complex types and JSON columns, and new LINQ optimisations to improve query performance.
This workshop is aimed at experienced .NET developers who want to get hands-on with everything that’s new and shiny in .NET 10. We’ll be sharing code throughout using GitHub and VS LiveShare, you’ll go home with a fully working copy of the sample application, and all the workshop code is published under the MIT license so you can use it for whatever you like.

Target audience and prerequisites
This is for experienced .NET developers; we’ll assume you know your way around C#, the dotnet command line tooling, libraries like EF Core and xUnit, and you’re comfortable running code, building projects and working with GitHub and cloud platforms.
Attendees will need the .NET 10 SDK installed, and a code editor such as Visual Studio, JetBrains Rider, or VS Code.
About the Trainer
Dylan Beattie has been building data-driven web applications with C# and .NET since the beta release of the .NET Framework back in 2002. He’s used .NET to build everything from tiny standalone websites, to large-scale distributed web applications, to video encoding pipelines for guitar karaoke, and he’s been teaching .NET workshops for over fifteen years. Dylan is a Microsoft MVP and the creator of the Rockstar esoteric programming language, and he’s presented talks about technology and software development at conferences and events all over the world.
