Are you grappling with a work/life/relationship challenge? Join this psychological, deep-dive workshop to map your path to breakthrough.
About this Event

Our 1 Day Breakthrough Process is a focused day for people who need space to think clearly about something that matters.

You arrive with a question, a decision, or a sense of being stuck. Over the course of the day, you work with experienced facilitators and a small group to understand what is really happening and decide what to do next.

This is not a seminar or motivational event. It is a serious thinking space designed to help you see what you have been circling and leave with clarity you can act on.

It is also an opportunity to experience the Breakthrough Process before committing to a five-day programme.

Who is it for?

This programme is for thoughtful people who want to understand themselves and their situation more clearly.

Participants bring challenges such as:

  • A decision that needs clarity
  • Feeling disconnected from direction or motivation
  • A relationship or work pattern they want to understand
  • Uncertainty despite external success
  • Feeling stuck without knowing why

How does it work?

The day follows a structured journey from defining your challenge to insight and direction.

Working in a small group with experienced facilitators, you explore both the psychological and practical dimensions of what you are facing.

By the end of the day, you will leave with:

  • Clarity on what is really happening
  • Insight into what has been getting in the way
  • Fresh perspective
  • A clear next step
  • Understanding of whether a longer programme is right for you

Your Day

Morning: define your challenge and what matters
Late morning: uncover blind spots and assumptions
Afternoon: test ideas, gain perspective, clarify direction
End of day: define your next step

“The combination of group work, creative sessions and psychological guidance were very effective. By the end, I felt capable of moving forwards.”

Charlotte, Lawyer

More about The Breakthrough Process:

The Breakthrough Process was created in 2018 by Dr Tom Cotton, a psychotherapist and executive coach.

Through years of work with individuals, leaders, and organisations, he recognised a gap. People needed something that went beyond therapy or coaching alone — a process that combined psychological depth with practical clarity and decision-making.

Over time, the approach has evolved and deepened. We have brought together a team of experienced facilitators across psychology, leadership, and strategy. We have worked with hundreds of individuals facing significant life decisions, leadership teams navigating change, and founders building businesses that matter.

One-day workshop facilitators:

Dr Tom Cotton – Programme Director & Group Process Facilitator

Tom is a UKCP Reg. Existential-Analytic Psychotherapist, an EMCC Accred. executive coach, and founder of The Breakthrough Process. Before training as a psychotherapist, Tom worked as a writer and director in the film industry for 15 years. Both disciplines come together in his passion for helping people see the world around them more clearly.

Andy Iwaniec – Group Process Facilitator

Andy is a leadership coach and change consultant, and former Global Organisation Development Director at Unilever. With 30 years’ cross-industry experience, he has designed and rolled-out large-scale organisation change and leadership development programmes, ranging from firm-wide culture change to bespoke leadership development.
