Learn the art of slab building as we construct charming ceramic fireplace votives from clay. You’ll shape and assemble your own cozy little hearth, then bring it to life with tiny accessories for your mantle, and brick textured details.This is a beginner-friendly handbuilding workshop — no prior clay experience required. Just bring your creativity and holiday spirit!
Pre-registration is required — each person in your group (including kids) must have a ticket.
What’s included:
Up to 2 lbs of clay per participant
Instruction in handbuilding techniques
Tools and materials for decorating your piece
Glazing and two kiln firings included

Class may be canceled if fewer than 5 people are registered 24 hours in advance; in that case, we’ll contact you and issue a class credit. Your finished pieces will be fired in our kiln and ready for pickup in about 3 weeks at The Claypen in West Hartford, CT
