We cordially invite you to PRACTICE WITH US!
For 2 Tuesdays April 1st and 8th, we will be opening our studio doors to all West Coast Swing (WCS) dancers at ANY LEVEL to come and enjoy "geeking-out" about WCS. These sessions will not be coached. Keith Stremmel is booked elsewhere for these two weeks. But there will be experienced dancers and maybe some folks who instruct in attendance.
--- Everyone mingles/rotates - both singles and couples are welcome.
--- This is an informal dance practice.
--- WHY ATTEND this practice? Many people don't have the opportunity to work on their own dance material with a partner. THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY to meet like-minded dancers that can partner with you and give you feedback with how your dance is feeling and what you might do to improve a movement/flow/pattern/lead/follow.
--- WHAT TO EXPECT? This is a practice session and not a regular dance! People will not be expecting to dance full songs. This whole session is about discussing WCS and practicing WCS. Take advantage of having people wanting to work on their material, many mirrors, and a variety of slow and medium speed WCS music will be played. People can group together, for their study, in groups of 2 or more. It can be very fun having a small group helping each other.
--- These sessions are all "self-paced". As usual, there will likely be an imbalance of leaders and followers. So, leaders and followers will share and help each other as much as possible. If you choose to sit and wait for someone to ask you, you might not practice as much as you'd like.
--- Music will start playing at 6:30pm and go until 8:30pm.
--- Admission is $5 and no reservation is needed. If you are enrolled in Learn2West Coast Swing class that began on Feb. 25th, admission is free and included in the cost of the class.
