THIS IS A NIGHT TOURNAMENT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
YOU MIGHT BE PLAYING PAST MIDNIGHT!
—Address = 100 Academy Rd, Madison, TN 37115
—This tournament will be taking place in two separate gymnasiums, both of which are on Madison Academy's campus. Your captain will be told the day of the tournament which gym your team needs to report to.
—Park in designated spaces only.
—No drugs or alcohol on campus.
—I AM SERIOUSLY NOT ALLOWED TO LET PARTICIPANTS INSIDE THE GYMS BEFORE SUNDOWN.
COST & PAY OUT:
—Costs $240 per team ($40/player for a team of six).
—This tournament will be capped at 18 teams.
—If the 18 team limit is reached, the total purse will be $2,220.
—If the 18 team limit is reached, the purse distribution will be as follows:
→ 1st place in upper = $1,500 ($250/player for a team of six)
→ 2nd place in upper = $480 (double money back)
→ 1st place in lower = $240 (money back)
—If the 18 team limit is not reached, the pay out will be adjusted proportionally based on the total number of teams.
REGISTRATION:
—Message me directly to save your team a spot.
—Captains must pay me in full via Venmo the week of the tournament.
—All participants must sign a waiver.
FORMAT DETAILS:
—Just like in doubles, triples, and quads, there is no rotating in this format.
—Only females are allowed to play front row, so men will NOT be allowed to block or hit on or in front of the ten foot line.
—Because men can't play front row, the maximum number of males per team is three.
—Teams ARE allowed to have more than three females, but only the three females who are front row are allowed to block and hit at the net.
—Before the game begins, each team must announce to the refs and to the other team who their three front row players are. That decision cannot be changed during a game, but it can be changed from game to game.
—Likewise, only ONE male per team is allowed to hit from back row. Before each game begins, each team must announce to the refs and to the other team who that male is. That decision cannot be changed during a game, but it can be changed from game to game.
—Because there is no rotation rule, players can stand wherever they want before the serve.
—Participants must play as their biological sex at birth.
—Let me know if you have any questions.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
—Pool play followed by seeded, single elimination bracket play.
—The criteria for bracket seeding after pool play will be as follows: win-loss record, point differential, head-to-head, coin toss/odd or even/random trivia question/medieval joust.
—If the 18 team limit is reached, 12 teams will go to the upper bracket and 6 teams will go to the lower bracket.
RULE HIGHLIGHTS:
—Standard indoor sixes rules apply, with the following highlight/new addition/controversial topic: DOUBLING THE FIRST, AND SECOND CONTACT IS LEGAL as long as the double contact was made in a single attempt to play the ball, and as long as the ball was not sent across the net. It's the same rule the women are using in the NCAA.
—The spiral molten ball is the default game ball.
—Any net touch during play results in a loss of point. If the ball is down before the net touch, there is no violation.
—If a lowered basketball goal interferes with play, the ball is dead. The referee must judge whether the ball could have been played had the goal not interfered. If so, the point is replayed. If not, the team that sent the ball into the goal loses the point. (A raised basketball goal functions the same as the ceiling.)
Let me know if you have any questions.
