UTC-05:00Location
Hendersonville Memorial Park | Hendersonville, TN
—1:30 arrival, 1:45 players' meeting and prayer, 2:00 serves
—Address = 151 E Main Street Hendersonville, TN 37075
—The lights will kick on before sundown amidst bracket play.
COST & PAY OUT:
—Costs $140/team. Payout is practically winner-take-all.
—The thousand dollar payout is dependent on the total number of teams, but if that threshold is reached, the dispersion will be as follows: 1st place will split $1,000 (or more if the threshold is exceeded); 2nd place will at least get their money back.
FORMAT DETAILS:
—Participants must play as their biological sex at birth.
—Each team must have at least one biological female.
—Pool play followed by single elimination bracket play.
—After pool play, teams will be seeded for bracket play based off wins first and points second. Ties will be decided by a coin toss.
—Teams will be placed into brackets strictly according to their seed number, so matchups in brackets might be repeat matchups from pools.
—The semis and finals will be match play: 21-21-15.
REGISTRATION:
—Message me directly to save your team a spot.
—Captains must pay me in full via Venmo the week of the tournament.
—Every participant must sign a waiver.
—If inclement weather causes me to cancel last minute, you will be reimbursed in full. I will not keep your money for almost providing you with a service.
RULE HIGHLIGHTS:
—The yellow OPTX ball is the default game ball.
—All players can block and attack at and above the net.
—The block does not count as one of your team’s three touches.
—Like indoors, doubling the first contact with finger action is legal, including in serve receive.
—Setting across the net is illegal unless the ball's direction is perpendicular with the shoulder line, or unless the overset was a legitimate attempt to set a teammate, as judged by the ref.
—No open hand tips.
—Let serves are legal.
—You get one toss on your serve.
—Any net touch during play results in a loss of point. If the ball is down before the net touch, there is no violation.
—Coming under the net is legal as long as it doesn’t interfere with play.
