Join us for a hands-on, nature-loving morning where we’ll become backyard entomologists! Children will build their own mini bug hotels using natural and recycled materials — perfect for creating safe little shelters for pollinators, beetles, and spiders right outside your home.
As we create, we’ll explore the fascinating life cycles of three different creatures:
• 🐛 The moth — from egg to fuzzy caterpillar to fluttering wings
• 🕷️ The spider — egg sac to tiny spiderlings and web-building wonders
• 🪲 The beetle — larva to pupa to shiny armored adult!
We’ll use felt models, stories, and visual charts to help children understand metamorphosis and insect behavior in a way that’s engaging and age-appropriate. The children will get to touch, sort, and build, making this a rich sensory experience that connects science with art and practical life.
This workshop encourages:
✨ Curiosity about nature
🧠 Scientific thinking
👐 Fine motor development
🌱 Respect for even the tiniest creatures
Each child will take home their very own bug hotel made by you and a simple life cycle mini-book to continue the learning at home.
